TEREM - HOLDING in a joint partnership with the University of National and World Economy

On April 17, 2024, the executive director of TEREM - HOLDING Kalin Dimitrov and the rector of the University of National and World Economy Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov signed a Partnership agreement. The partnership lays a solid foundation for building fruitful bilateral relations in the training process in relation to security and defence economy.

The two parties discussed at the official meeting some possibilities of various joint initiatives, including organizing workshops, discussions and conferences concerning matters in the scope of national security as well as exchange of good practices and know-how in the field. Prof. Dr. Dimitrov noted that cooperation with business is a priority in the sake of the prospective development of UNWE students in order to acquire valuable practical knowledge. The partners will collaborate in joint research-oriented projects also. "Our mission is to bring science closer to practice and vice versa - this is a two-way process in which we can be mutually beneficial in achieving common goals. One of the main priorities for the Holding is the human resources development through close cooperation with educational institutions," said Kalin Dimitrov. The meeting was also attended by Anton Lazarov, member of the Board of Directors of the TEREM Group as well as Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice-Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies and Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Tsvetkov from the National and Regional Security Department by the side of UNWE.

The executive director defined as extremely valuable the future Internships in various TEREM - HOLDING divisions and said that hopefully the program will be launched soon. Meanwhile, specialized lectures by experts from the Holding will be organized. As the beginning of the training process, the executive director Kalin Dimitrov delivered a public lecture to students and professors from the National and Regional Security Department regarding the activities of the Holding and its five subsidiaries. "The task of TEREM - HOLDING is to become a leader in terms of high-quality repair, production, modernization and logistical support of equipment and armaments in the field of the defence industry. The company is the only one in the country that has the necessary production facilities and qualified personnel to achieve its goals, although modernization of the facilities and staff retraining are necessary," summarized Kalin Dimitrov. After the presentation, the lecture was open for questions and provoked interesting discussions among the students.

The National and Regional Security Department of UNWE was established in 1990 and nearly 200 students are trained in the Economics of Defence and Security major annually. The agreement with UNWE is part of the TEREM - HOLDING strategy to support and develop its human resources capital through training and attracting young talents.
