As of September 17, 2025, Krasimir Kanev has been officially listed as a member of the TEREM-HOLDING EAD Board of Directors. An official member will be appointed after concluding the official public procedure in accordance with the Legal regulation of the Public Enterprises. Mr. Kanev was assigned as per protocol decision No. RD-36-33/09.09.2025 by the Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov as the principal of the Holding.

Krasimir Kanev graduated at Vasil Levski National Military University, majoring in Tank Forces. In 1988, he graduated at The Military Academy Georgi S. Rakovski, majoring in Command-Staff-Operational and Tactical level. He subsequently continued his education at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg, Germany. After that he completed General Admiral Staff Course and also European Defence Course.

During his military career, Mr. Kanev held numerous command positions in the Bulgarian Army. In 1979, he was appointed as a tank platoon commander in the 96^th Tank Regiment - Chirpan, reaching the position of deputy chief of staff of the regiment. In the period 1990 - 2001 he led the 22^nd Infantry Regiment - Harmanli, and then became commander of the 9^th Armoured Brigade - Gorna Banya until 2007.

In the next three years Mr. Kanev was the Defence Attaché of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Federal Republic of Germany with accreditations of Defence Attaché for Swiss Confederation and the Kingdom of Denmark as well. After that, his military career continued as the commander of the 61^st Mechanized Brigade - Karlovo, and subsequently as the Deputy Commander of the Land Forces in the period 2012 - 2014.

Krasimir Kanev's professional path continued at the Ministry of Defence as in 2017 he became part of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov in his capacity as an advisor. He subsequently headed the Project Management Directorate, and was also appointed as the National Director of Armaments. In 2020 he again took up the position of advisor to the Minister of Defence - until the end of the government's mandate in 2021.

In April 2024, Mr. Kanev was appointed advisor to the Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov, holding this position until his appointment as TEREM-HOLDING EAD Board of Directors member.

Krasimir Kanev was decorated with the medal of Distinction in the Bulgarian People’s Army, the Honourable badge of the MoD “St. George” II class, the award for Loyal service under the flags – II class as well as the Award badge for Loyal service under the flags – I class.

He speaks German and English fluently, as well as Russian at a good level.

Mr. Kanev is married with two children.
