The demonstration took place following the final stage of the championship at the Slivnitsa Training Centre, where eight teams from Bulgarian Land Forces formations competed and demonstrated professional skills in operating unmanned aerial systems.
The TEREM strike unmanned aerial system, a micro-class rotary-wing FPV platform, is already in service with the Land Forces of the Bulgarian Army. For the first time, the system’s capabilities for the effective and precise engagement of ground targets at short and medium ranges within a tactical area were demonstrated in the presence of Prime Minister Rumen Radev. “I am extremely impressed by what I saw – both by the skills and capabilities of the Land Forces personnel and by those of the Bulgarian manufacturer TEREM and its FPV drones, which were demonstrated today. We all know by now that FPV drones completely dominate the battlefield in Ukraine and have proven to be an extremely effective and efficient means of deterring a superior adversary, isolating the area of combat operations and providing logistical support.” Radev commented.
In addition, demonstration flights were conducted involving the engagement of targets using high-explosive fragmentation and explosively formed penetrator munitions manufactured by Bamex 98, carried by TEREM UAV platforms.
Following the demonstration, Valeri Tsolov, Head of the Innovation and Research & Development Department, presented at the static display a number of new UAV models, as well as innovative solutions for them that are currently still under development.
TEREM’s successful participation once again confirms the capabilities and commitment of the Bulgarian defence industry to developing integrated solutions adapted to the contemporary military environment, and in particular to strengthening the capabilities of the Bulgarian Armed Forces in the field of unmanned innovations and technologies.
