At the official event, Mr. Milen Rusev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEREM-HOLDING, welcomed the achievement and the successful completion of the project. "You have demonstrated that you possess the expertise, production capabilities, and professional confidence required to deliver highly complex projects of international importance. Today represents far more than the successful completion of a single project. It demonstrates what can be achieved when a strong engineering concept is combined with the knowledge, experience, and professionalism necessary to bring it to life. We believe this is an important step toward the modernisation and expansion of TEREM-HOLDING's industrial capacity, which is a key priority in our strategy for the development of the companies within the Group."
The hybrid floating dock features a reinforced concrete and steel structure, providing a longer service life than conventional all-steel floating docks. The facility has an overall length of 87.35 metres and a lifting capacity of 2,500 tonnes. The new floating dock is designed to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of yachts, superyachts, and other vessels, while ensuring safe and efficient operation with minimal environmental impact. "This project is a result of tremendous effort and engineering expertise," commented Manager Danail Slavov. He emphasized that the construction of the first hybrid floating dock at a Bulgarian ship repair yard is a source of pride not only for TEREM – KRZ Flotski Arsenal – Varna but also for the entire Bulgarian maritime industry. In conclusion, he expressed confidence that this marks the first step toward the implementation of many more high-tech projects that will further strengthen Bulgaria's position as a reliable partner in the international shipbuilding and ship repair sector. "We are also in negotiations with other potential clients for larger-scale construction projects," he added.
TEREM – KRZ Flotski Arsenal – Varna is already working on a larger hybrid floating dock for another Croatian company. The new structure will be 115 metres long and will have a lifting capacity of 4,000 tonnes. According to Mr. Slavov, approximately 30% of the project has already been completed. "The fact that you have already been entrusted with another project by an international company is the strongest recognition of the quality of your work and the excellent results achieved during the construction of the dock for Adria Docks," added Deputy Chairman of the Board Mr. Milen Rusev.
During the ceremony, the classification society RINA officially presented the certification for the hybrid floating dock, confirming its compliance with all applicable international quality and safety standards.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Bulgarian Navy Command, the management of Adria Docks, representatives of the Turkish company Norden Ship Design House, responsible for the project's design, executives from the TEREM Group, and other distinguished guests.
